Pro Kabaddi League season 5 has started with 12 teams going head to head for the title triumph . With inclusion of four new teams ( Haryana Steelers, Gujarat Fortune Giants, Tamil Thalaivas and UP Yoddhas ) the league has became more interesting . There is group of 6-6 teams in Group A and Group B . We discuss 5 of the prominent players to look forward in this marathon 3 months league :

1:) Anup Kumar :

The most valuable player of the inaugral season is the back bone of U-Mumba from season 1 itself. Anup Kumar who also works as Deputy Commissioner of Police from his native state of Haryana is considered one of the best this game has ever seen. He is the top scorer from his team in the raiding department, scoring 411 points in just 57 matches with 307 successful raids. However he is 33 years old now and with his growing age will he able to continue the same magic on the mat like he has done before? This is the biggest question and for a champion player like him its time to perform and shut his critics .

2:) Pardeep Narwal

The “Dubki King” is considered one of the best products of Pro Kabaddi League. The 20 years old has allready helped Patna Pirates to lift the PKL trophy for two times and has became an overnight sensation since then. He was also a part of the Indian team which lifted the Kabaddi World cup in 2016, scoring 47 raid points in the tournament and being amongst the top 5 scorer in raiders category. This star from Haryana was retained by Patna Pirates and has been given the charge of the team in season 5. It will be interesting to see how Pardeep Narwal fares after getting the responsibility of a captain.

3:) Nitin Tomar

The most expensive buy in the history of PKL for a whooping 93 lakhs, Nitin Tomar is ready to play for UP Yoddhas and will also lead the Lucknow based franchise. Pastly this 21 years old Services man from UP has played for Bengal Warriors in 3rd season and has impressed with his allround performance , in season 4 he went to Puneri Paltan but failed to create an impact due to injury concerns. The most expensive player tag can well create alot of pressure on this allrounder to perform and it will be interesting to see how he cope up with the situation to deliver it for Yoddhas in Pro Kabaddi League season 5.

4:) Surender Nada – Mohit Chillar

The defensive duo have been performing impressively teaming up with each other . They both have played for same franchise team like U-Mumba and Bengaluru Bulls pastly ,they will now represent the newly formed franchise Haryana Steelers together. In 2016 kabaddi world cup ,this duo from Haryana have been the defensive pillar for India and now  will be interesting to see how they perform for Steelers in the Pro Kabaddi League season 5. Surender Nada will also lead the Haryana based franchise.

5:) Rahul Choudhary

Rahul Chaudhary recently became most successful raider in the PKL history who crossed 500 raid points. This “Poster boy” of Indian kabaddi has been a consistent performer for Telugu Titans in past 4 seasons. The boy from UP also dawned the Indian colours and played in the Kabaddi world cup 2016 .
