Time is nearing for the hockey’s biggest extravaganza as Odisha Hockey World Cup is all set to start from 29th November at Bhubaneswar, India. The tickets booking has also started for the event on the online platforms. Odisha government opted for lot of campaigns to popularize the world cup and it has allready created alot of buzz, with the returning hockey glory in India.

Hosts India will look to get inspired by the Indian cricket team that won the 2011 cricket world cup in India  and win the title at their own backyard.

History

The Hockey World Cup trophy was designed by the Bashir Moojid and created by the Pakistani Army in 1971. In the inaugural edition in 1971 in Spain, Pakistan emerged victorious by defeating hosts 1-0 in the final. India finished third in the same event and went onto win their only title in 1975 world cup in Malaysia.
