Former South African pacer Allan Donald has faced the wrath of Indian and Pakistani fans after he didn’t name any Asian cricketer in his all time best XI. Donald, famously known as “White Lightning” unveiled his best playing 11 of all time on the Youtube channel of “Lord’s”.

He picked his squad on the basis of whom he had played in the same team or the opposite team.

Openers

Donald, 51, picked great Australian opening combination of Matthew Hayden and Justin Langer to start the innings for his team.

Middle order

At an all important number 3 spot, he picked his countryman and probably one of the greatest all-rounders of all time Jacques Kallis. The Caribbean cricketers took the 4th and 5th spot as Donald named Brian Lara and Sir Viv Richards at the spine of the batting line-up.

Lower-Middle order

The position is favourable for the batsman who can strike at a healthy pace and understanding the demand, Donald picked his countryman AB De Villiers and Adam Gilchrist at number 6 and 7.

Bowling attack

Australian and West Indian bowlers have certainly managed to impress Donald as he picked 2 Australian and 2 West Indians in the bowling line up. The spin department will be spearhead by the great “Shane Warne”, while the pace battery consists of Malcolm Marshall, Curtly Ambrose and Glenn McGrath.
