The much hyped test series between India and Australia is slated to start from 6th December in Adelaide. Many cricket experts donned the prediction hat and predicted in the favour of India saying that Australia looks more than ordinary without the services of David Warner and Steve Smith who are facing a one year ban following the infamous sandpaper gate controversy.
Ricky Ponting makes a bold prediction
Meanwhile, world cricket’s greatest ever captain- Ricky Ponting has joined the huddle and predicted that Australia will win the test series. The Tasmanian born didn’t took off from here and went on to say that Australia will win the test series 2-1 against India.
He earlier predicted the outcome of Ashes series where he said that Australia will lose it 4-0 and the same story was made true by Joe Root’s men.
Khwaja will trouble India says Ponting
Ponting went onto say that Usman Khwaja will be amongst the runs and will create a big difference in the series for the Aussies.
“He’s(Usman Khwaja) on top of his game, his record in Australia is outstanding. As much of a threat that the Indian fast bowlers might pose, I think he’s got a game that can cope with it here in Australia,” Ponting told cricket.com.au.
“I’m going with him to be the leading run scorer and man of the series. Right now he’s in a really good place, the selectors backed him through that UAE tour, gave him a chance and he came out (better) on the other side of that,” he added.
Ponting also said that pacer Josh Hazlewood will be the standout performer for Australia as far as the bowling is concerned.
