With all the eight franchise teams almost certain with their middle order, it looks tough for Yuvraj Singh to get a buyer in the upcoming Indian premier league auction. The southpaw from Punjab was not in the best of form with the bat in the Vijay Hazare trophy for Punjab and his lack of form continued in last month’s Ranji game against a low lying Delhi.
The 37-years-old was released by Kings XI Punjab after he failed to create an impact in 2018 edition of Indian Premier League.
His poor form may also make the franchise owner to ignore him in the IPL, however his recent innings against Punjab might just change their mind.
Yuvraj the “All-rounder” shines against Tamil Nadu
In the ongoing Ranji trophy encounter between Punjab and Tamil Nadu, Yuvraj managed to shine with the bat with a quickfire innings of 41 runs of just 34 balls that included 8 blistering boundaries. The impactful innings might be enough to get him a buyer in the auction and maybe he can also increase his bid with this innings.
Tamil Nadu were in all sorts of bother after Punjab finished on 479/10 in reply to Tamil Nadu’s total of 215 runs. In the context of the match it looks more than uncertain of Yuvraj getting to bat again.
In the second innings, Yuvi picked two crucial wickets for his team which may be an indication that his all-round abilities are still up and alive.
