Ever since the retirement of Rahul Dravid, India got a new Mr. dependable in Cheteshwar Pujara after the Saurashtra batsman scored tons of run in the Ranji trophy. The right handed batsman has been a prolific run scorer for the Indian test team in recent while. His run scoring ability was doubted in South Africa test series but he proved his critics wrong and got back into the form in England.

Lot was expected from him in Australia and the 30-years-old didn’t disappoint after scoring 521 runs in 7 innings of the ongoing Domain test series. The number 4 ranked test batsman also has three hundreds and 1 fifty to his name.

Michael Clarke in awe of Cheteshwar Pujara’s knock

Meanwhile former Australian captain Michael Clarke, who is also commentating for Sony Six in English was all praises for Cheteshwar Pujara’s masterclass at Sydney cricket ground. Clarke said that Pujara has the hunger of scoring more and more runs and he is smart enough to convert 100s into double or triple hundreds. The 2015 world cup winning captain also said that Pujara reminds him of Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara.

“I had two idols as a young boy – Brian Lara and Sachin Tendulkar,” Clarke said in the post match show.  “Brian Lara was the best at it. Anytime he would get a start, he will make it big. He made a 500 in first-class cricket. And he’s got the record in Test cricket, he will make big hundreds. Sachin as well… You see Sachin get to a thirty and he would turn that into a hundred. Very rarely would he miss out once he got into his innings.
