The build to the upcoming Indian Premier League started with the less hyped auction which was held in December 2018. Since then the much awaited schedule was delayed by the governing council owing to the final confirmation of the dates of Lok Sabha polls.
BCCI finally released the schedule for the first two week of the tournament. The schedule has only 17 matches and the rest of the schedule will be announced after the date of elections will be finalized. The defending champions Chennai Super Kings will finally get the backing of crazy Chennai crowd as they play the season opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chepauk stadium in Chennai.
Meanwhile, three times champion Mumbai Indians unveiled their new jersey for the 12th season in a video featured on social media. Skipper Rohit Sharma and team’s Indian superstar like Jasprit Bumrah, Krunal and Hardik Pandya were spotted in the video package.

Mumbai Indians will kickstart their tournament in pursuit to the fourth title when they face Delhi Capitals(former Delhi Daredevils) on the second day of the tournament(i.e 24th March).
