Dhoni’s strategic skills makes him better than Virat and Rohit: Raina

Dhoni's strategic skills makes him better than Virat and Rohit: Raina

The guidance of Mahendra Singh Dhoni behind the stumps has given additional wings to the spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in the past and Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav in the present times. The Ranchi lad is doing the same job for Chennai Super Kings from behind the stumps which makes an ordinary looking bowling line-up more than formidable.

Praising the ability of MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina feels that the former India captain’s biggest strength is to stay in the present and improvise on the situation. The southpaw from Muradnagar in Uttar Pradesh opines that Dhoni is ahead of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma owing to his strategic skills that has won many games for India as well for Chennai Super Kings.

“Every captain is unique and they all bring their interesting set of skills to the game. Having said that, Dhoni has been consistent with his impressive game strategies and that has converted to multiple wins over the years,” he told IANS as reported by Quint.

Raina reveals CSK’s winning mantra

Chennai Super Kings is an aged team with average age of 30+, but the team has managed to create a miracle when they won the 2018 IPL trophy after facing two year of suspension. Cricket pundits keep analyzing the mantra of success for CSK, Raina said it is all about knowing each other’s strengths and weaknesses.

“I think, we know each other’s strengths and weaknesses pretty well and share a healthy team culture, which keeps the positivity going. This helps us keep our focus on the game. Also, the management team is fantastic; they are like family to us,” said the former Gujarat Lions captain.

Raina managed to score 30 off just 16 balls on a slow Kotla wicket to help his side beat Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets to register back to back victory. CSK earlier thumped Royal Challengers Bangalore in the season opener on 23rd March.
