India will start their world cup campaign against a tough South Africa on June 5 in Southampton and the build to the game has allready started with Kagiso Rabada firing potshots on India captain Virat Kohli. The 24-year-old said that Virat Kohli’s aggression makes him look extremely immature on the field at times.
The war of words started between the two in the recently concluded IPL where Kohli was playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rabada was representing Delhi Capitals. In a RCB vs DC clash, Kohli fired a ball to the boundary and had a talk with Rabada to set up a banter with the South African pacer.
However, Rabada is not impressed with Kohli’s behaviour and said that the Indian captain gives it to the bowlers but can’t take it back and it “immature”.
“I was just thinking about the game plan, really, but Virat, he hit me for a boundary and then he had a word. And then when you give it back to him, he gets angry. I don’t get the guy. Maybe he does it because it gets him going, but that comes across as very immature for me. He is a phenomenal player but he can’t take the abuse. But those things can’t distract you,” Rabada told ESPNCricinfo.
The Johannesburg lad further said that he love to get involved in fights, which inspires him to deliver with more intent.
South Africa’s journey so far
The Proteas will come to the match against India with much more understanding of English conditions as they had allready played a game against hosts England on May 30 and will be gearing up for their second game against Bangladesh on June 2.
