Team India will lock horns against arch-rivals Pakistan in the ongoing world cup on June 16th. The two teams last played in Super four stage of Asia cup 2018, where the men in blue emerged victorious. However, after the Pulwama terror attack in February 2019, there has been a huge demand of boycotting the world cup game against Pakistan.
Pakistan has never won a world cup game against India and the latter team stands with an advantage of 6-0 in the show piece event. Pakistani chief selector Inzamam-ul-haq was confident that Sarfaraz Ahmed and company will finally pip India to break the jinx for Pakistan.
Suresh Raina predictions about India vs Pakistan clash
The cricketer from Uttar Pradesh feels that India has every chance of pipping their arch-rivals and make it 7-0 against Pakistan in world cup history. Asserting the importance of initial clashes, Raina said that the men in blue won’t be concerned about Pakistan if they manage to win the starting games.
“I do not think that at this point of time, any of the players will be thinking about the Pakistan match because we need to do well in our initial matches and if we will be able to win those matches then I do not think there will be an issue for the Pakistan match,” Raina was quoted as saying in the Asian Age.
“But in case we lose some the matches then I can say that there will be pressure on India for the Pakistan match… but if we win the first three matches then I do not think our World Cup record is going to break.. and Pakistan cannot beat us..,” he mentioned.
Raina further said that the team needs good start in the tournament and that the team boasts of some quality players in batting and bowling department.
