All India Football Federation(AIFF) has announced the schedule of upcoming Intercontinental cup 2019, which starts on July 7. The football association has decided to take the game up north by making Ahmedabad’s EKA Arena as the official venue of the tournament.
In the opening clash of the tournament- hosts and defending champions India will face Tajikistan. Democratic Republic of Korea(North Korea) will be the next opponents to face India on 13th July followed by game against Syria on July 16.
Qualification
The top two teams from the round robin stage will qualify for the finals on 19th July. India is the second highest ranked team in the tournament which makes them the favourite to qualify for the finals. Syria(83) is the highest rank team in the tournament followed by India(101), Tajikistan(120) and Korea DPR(121).

July 8: Syria vs DPR Korea
July 10: Tajikistan vs Syria
July 13: India vs DPR Korea
July 15: DPR Korea vs Tajikistan

Last year
The tournament was played at Mumbai Football Arena in Mumbai with participating teams from India, New Zealand, Chinese Taipei and Kenya. India and Kenya were the finalists of the tournament where the men in blue emerged victorious by defeating the team from Africa 2-0.
