Sakshi Dhoni breaks silence over MS Dhoni's retirement rumour

MS Dhoni’s retirement rumours were rife after Virat Kohli shared a throwback picture with MS Dhoni, which is when he and former India captain took India home in a must win match against Australia to reach the World T20 2016 semi-finals. Media said that the veteran of 350 ODIs will address the media at 7 PM and may announce his retirement from the game he grew up playing.

The news spread like a forest fire and fans were allready making emotional statements on the social media. However, Dhoni’s wife- Sakshi termed it all as a rumour. She took to twitter to deny all the claims and term it as a mere rumour.

“Its called rumours !” Sakshi said in a tweet.

Later, chief selector MSK Prasad said that the news of Dhoni’s retirement are not true which is enough to put full stop on the speculations.

Dhoni’s return from the army duty

MS Dhoni made himself unavailable for the recently concluded West Indies tour by announcing that he will join his army battalion. He trained with his parachute regiment in Bengaluru and then headed to Kashmir where he will be staying till 15th August. MS Dhoni is guarding and patrolling in the dangerous terrain of South Kashmir’s Awantipora district which is well known for terror activities. The unit where Dhoni is deployed, have soldiers from different battalions like Rajputana, Gorkha, Sikh, Jatt and Jammu and Kashmir rifles. The unit consists of 700 army personnels and Dhoni is doing the duty in both day and night in two shifts.

It was believed that the veteran batsman will return for the series against South Africa but he himself wants Rishabh Pant to get more exposure of International cricket. It is unlikely that he will return in action in the shortest format of the game and his next expected national call-up may be West Indies ODI series which starts in December.
