Deepak Chahar turned the third and last T20 match against Bangladesh on its head after he bagged a hattrick to send the visitors packing. In the T20 match played in Nagpur, India’s fast bowler Deepak Chahar set a new record by taking a hat-trick and also become the first Indian to achieve this rare feet in the shortest version of the game.
The Agra born Rajasthan bound cricketer dismissed Liton Kumar Das and Soumya Sarkar upfront to push the visitor team on backfoot, who were chasing a target of 175 runs at a batting friendly wicket. Bangladesh fought back with a 98 run stand between Mohammad Naim and Mohammad Mithun and the things started looking tough for India from there on.
Chahar was introduced in the attack in the 13th over and he dismissed a dangerous looking Mithun to give the much needed breakthrough to the Indian team. Shivam Dube clawed his way back in the game after he dismissed Naim and Mushfiqur Rahim to set it up nicely for India.
Chahar was introduced to bowl the 18th over of the game where he picked the wicket of Shafiul Islam on the last ball of the over. He did not stop from here as he dismissed Mustafizur Rahman on his next ball of the 19th over to create second hattrick opportunity for himself in the match.
Aminul Islam was on strike and Chahar made sure that he did not miss the second opportunity to pick a hattrick. He bowled a yorker on the leg stump and the Bangladeshi batter had no answer to the lethal delivery. India won the game by 30 runs and won the three match T20 series 2-1.
Chahar sent six Bangladeshi players to the pavilion after giving away just seven runs in just 3.2 overs, which is the best bowling figures in t20 cricket. He was adjudged the man of the match for his magical performance and was also adjudged the man of the series as he finished with 8 wickets at an average of 7 and an economy of 5.1.
