The Indian Premier League 2020 auction came to an end with many unknown faces becoming overnight crorepati. Australian cricketers Patrick Cummins and Glenn Maxwell were sold for a whooping sum of 15.5 crore and 10.75 crore rupees respectively. However, the eyes were set on the top Indian stars of the auction and interestingly Robin Uthappa was sold for a sum of 3 crore rupees but many top Indian stars went unsold.
Here is a look at them-
1- Yusuf Pathan
Team India all-rounder Yusuf Pathan was disappointed by the franchisees in the IPL 2020 auction. He did not attract a bidder in the 13th season of auction. The last three seasons have been below average for him and as a result Kolkata Knight Riders and then Sunrisers Hyderabad released him. He has played 174 IPL matches so far and has 3204 runs. In the last season, he score 40 runs in 10 games.
2- Tim Southee
New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee did not find any buyers in the IPL 2020 auction. Last season, Southee played for Bangalore in only three matches.
3- Cheteshwar Pujara
The Indian test specialist last featured in 2014 IPL season for Kings XI Punjab. He did not attract any buyer in this year’s auction too.
4- Colin de Grandhomme
New Zealand player Colin de Grandhomme was also disappointed in the auction this time. Grandhome, who played only four matches in IPL 2019, did not perform on expected terms. He was part of the Royal Challengers in the 12th season.
5- Martin Guptill
New Zealand’s star batsman Martin Guptill, who played for Hyderabad last season, also did not get any buyers. In IPL 2019, Guptill scored 81 runs in three matches and was a replacement for David Warner who departed following Australia’s preparatory camp for 2019 world cup.
6- Colin Monroe
New Zealand batsman Colin Munro did not attract any buyer. Last season, he played for the Delhi Capitals where he scored 84 runs in four matches.
7- Evin Lewis
Caribbean player Evin Lewis, who played four seasons (2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019) for Mumbai, did not get a buyer in the auction. Last season, Lewis played only three matches for Mumbai and scored 48 runs.
8- Ben Cutting
No franchise showed their interest in Australia’s all-rounder Ben Cutting. His base price was 75 lakhs rupees. He last played for Mumbai Indians in 2019 season.
9- Colin Ingram
Franchisees didn’t showed their interest in South African batsman Colin Ingram either. Ingram played for Delhi Capitals in the previous season.
10- Ish Sodhi
The New Zealand leg spinner also did not find any buyers in the auction.
11- Hanuma Vihari
The Indian test specialist was released by Delhi Capitals ahead of the auction and he didn’t find any buyer.
