No cricket with India until it frees Kashmir: Imran Khan's minister

After the Pulwama attack in 2019, the relations between India and Pakistan have grown more sour. If India is boycotting Pakistan on every front, then Pakistan is also not holding back. The two countries have not played any bilateral series on the cricket field for the last seven years. With rising tension between the political leaderships of the two countries, Imran Khan led government’s minister Firdaus Ashiq Awan has given a strange statement that promises to worsen the situation.

This woman minister of Pakistan feels that the Indian team wants to play cricket with Pakistan, but the men in green are not eager to face Virat Kohli and his men. In fact, Firdaus Ashiq Awan, who is a special associate of Prime Minister Imran Khan as well as the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, said ‘Pakistan will not play cricket with India until Kashmir is liberated.

Talking to the media on the second day of the first Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh, Firdaus said that it is wrong to play international cricket with India. She noted that India has made many false conspiracies to stop international cricket in Pakistan, and they will only play India when it frees the Kashmir.

International cricket in Pakistan was completely stopped after the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team in 2009, but cricket has returned to Pakistan in the last few days. Sri Lanka first toured Pakistan for a full fledged series and now the Bangladeshi team is playing a series on the Pakistani soil. Pakistan is also scheduled to host this year’s Asia Cup, but due to sheltering terrorism, the Indian team wants the venue of the tournament to be changed.

Pakistan is determined to host the tournament and PCB CEO Wasim Khan has also warned India by saying that they will not take part in 2021 T20 world cup in India if the men in blue do not participate in this year’s Asia Cup.
