The deadly coronavirus has brought the world to a halt as the mortality rate surges higher with each passing day. Almost every event in the world including sporting events have been suspended for uncertain amount of time. However, WWE is the only sporting event which is still available for the fans and prove to be the only entertainment for the ardent sports fans who love combat sports.
WWE is now heading to Wrestlemania week amid coronavirus outbreak which has forced Vince McMahon led company to shot the action behind closed doors. On this week’s episode of RAW, WWE announced that street profits will defend their tag team titles against Andrade and Angel Garza at Wrestlemania.
Andrade was scheduled to face Rey Mysterio at the biggest stage of them all but WWE has changed plans at the last moment. It is learned that Mysterio is in quarantine in the fear of coronavirus and he is sidelined from action.
“There were a lot of different ideas, multiple different ideas for U.S. Title matches. From last week, the main idea was probably going to be Andrade and Rey. Rey is also in quarantine so he’s off the show. You got to be safe rather than sorry for sure,” Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio.
If Rey signs another contract with WWE then his Wrestlemania journey may continue next year but he refuses to do so, the master of 619 will miss out on his last Wrestlemania moment of his career.
Dana Brooke also in quarantine
Paige announced on last week’s episode of SmackDown that Bayley will defend her SmackDown women’s title in a six pack challenge match against Sasha Banks, Lacey Evans, Tamina Snuka, Naomi and Dana Brooke. However, Brooke has been pulled out of match as she is also in quarantine amid the Covid 19 epidemic, according to Dave Meltzer. This makes this match a five women contest.
