After a historic 2-1 triumph in the test series against Australia, a determined Indian team will take on a strong England side who is fresh from the series triumph against Sri Lanka. The starting two test matches will be played at Chepauk which has historically been a spinners paradise.
Both the teams are on a winning spree and will be determined to get another series win under their belt. India is currently 2nd in the test rankings while England currently stands at number four which makes it an interesting series. With two evenly matches opponents, prediction becomes a bit tough but the master blaster- Sachin Tendulkar did the tough thing and predicted the outcome of the series.
The veteran of 200 test match, Tendulkar said that it will be a evenly contested battle but India will triumph and win the series. Tendulkar noted that due to the red soil and humid weather, the ball will start reverse swinging from the 15th over and it will go on till the 60th over.
He added that the ball can also reverse swing from 60th to 80th hour but due to the softness of the ball, the batsman will have more time to adjust.
“I think fast bowlers are going to play a big role here, and more so, reverse swing could be a factor. I believe that the ball will reverse from 15th over to 60th over. When the ball reverses, it skids off the surface and there is less reaction time,” Hindustan Times quoted a report as saying.
“From 60-80th over, ball can still reverse but due to its softness, the batsmen find more time to adjust off the surface.” he added.
