After a successful campaign at the Olympics where India came up with the most medals in history, focus now shifts to Paralympics game. India will send its largest-ever contingent with 54 para-athletes competing in nine sporting disciplines. 2016 Rio Paralympics was the most successful outing for India where the country for 2 gold, 1 silver and as many bronze and the South Asian sporting giant will look to bag more at Tokyo.

The Tokyo Paralympics will feature 539 events across 22 different disciplines to be hosted at 21 venues. Its worth mentioning that Paralympics is an international sports competition for differently-abled athletes and it is split into two- Summer Paralympics and Winter Paralympics like the Olympic games. The two events alternately occur every two years.

The athletes in Paralympics compete in six different groups which are- amputee, cerebral palsy, visual impairment, spinal cord injuries, intellectual disability, and les autres. The games started from 24th August and will conclude on 5th September, 2021.

Badminton-

Men’s singles SL4 semi-finals- Suhas Yathiraj vs Fredy Setiawan(Indonesia)- 5:30 AM

Shooting-
Mixed R3 – 10 m air rifle prone SH1 – Deepak Saini, Sidhartha Babu & Avani Lekhara
Mixed P4 – 50 m pistol SH1 – Akash, Manish Narwal and Singhraj

Athletics-

Doordarshan will broadcast TOKYO Paralympics LIVE, Prasar Bharati’s Doordarshan will Broadcast & LIVE Stream the Tokyo Paralympics LIVE, Doordarshan will only live telecast the Indian events at the Tokyo Paralympics.

Eurosport India has also got the broadcast rights for the games. The channel will start the broadcast of the telecast from 27th August with the start of archery event.
