A win over the Japanese pair will mean that Rankireddy and Shetty becomes the first men’s doubles pairing from India to win a medal in world championship as a bronze medal will be confirmed after a semi final appearance. When talking about the rankings, the Japanese are ranked 2nd in the world while the Indian pairing is at the 7th spot. Considering the current form, it will be pretty tough to pick an overwhelming favourite but winning the Commonwealth Games 2022 gold medal will certainly help the morale of the Indian pairing.
