The golden wait ended as the team of Rudranksh Patil, Aishwary Tomar and Divyansh Panwar won India its first gold medal in men’s 10m air rifle team event at the 19th Asiad. They finish with a score of 1893.7, a world record in a competition with the like of “heavyweights” Korea and China. Its worth mentioning that 10m rifle is the most decorated shooting event for India with the likes of Abhinav Bindra and Gagan Narang already bringing laurels to the country in the same event.
While Rudrankksh Patil and Aishwary Pratap Singh finished at 3rd and 5th respectively, Divyansh Singh Panwar was in a tie for the 8th spot with Kazakhstan’s Islam Satpayev but was placed at number 8th and in qualification spot with his higher 10s but the Kazak shooter qualified in the individual finals as only two shooters from a nation can qualify for the finals.
The individual finals begin at 9 AM.
