Delhi’s hard hitting Southpaw Rishabh Pant has made the headlines by a top notch century against Himachal Pradesh. On Sunday, the Delhi wicket-keeper batsman blasted a List A record 32-ball hundred in a North Zone match against Himachal Pradesh, at the Ferozeshah Kotla on Sunday. Pant remained unbeaten on 116 off 38 balls. His thunderous innings included 12 sixes and eight boundaries. Pant who is believed to be the successor of MS Dhoni in limited overs format struggled to make a mark in Ranji Trophy. Selectors felt he was not playing his natural game due to the big role of captaincy. Later, they handed over the captaincy to Pradeep Sangwan in SMA trophy and ease the pressure from Pant. The wicket-keeper didn’t disappoint and played some top knocks followed by a record-breaking ton in Indias Premier domestic T20 tournament.
Pant, was retained for Rs 15 crore by Indian Premier League franchise Delhi Daredevils.
Chasing a target of 144 set by Himachal, Pant got Delhi off to a flier as he reached the triple-figure mark in just 32 deliveries – the second fastest in T20 history. Gambhir played a steady innings of 30 off 33 deliveries. Delhi reached the target in just 11.4 overs.
