Players have their own way of superstition, but in recent years, the players have started a new trend of ‘special jersey number’. The best and most popular example of this is former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s number 7. Which is not only his jersey number but it also had occupied the number plates of his cars and motorcycles. And now the new name of Prithvi Shaw has been added in the list. Prithvi’s special love for “100” has emerged in recent times. The reason behind jersey number 100 of Prithvi Shaw is not any superstition, as he stated.

The Youngster went to New Zealand with a great reputation in the Under-19 World Cup. The reason behind this reputation was his performance in school cricket during the childhood days and the great composure and run making ability he showed while playing for Mumbai in domestic cricket. Though Shaw could not play with the great reputation for which he is renowned in the recently concluded Under 19 world cup. The reason being his high standards, which he set in India’s domestic tournaments like Ranji trophy. But he proved his worth with his captaincy skills and helped India lift the coveted trophy.
Cricket lovers relate Shaw’s jersey number 100 to Sachin Tendulkar sometimes. Not to forget, Sachin Tendulkar has 100 International to his name and Indian Under 19 skipper is a great fan of the master blaster. Both the players are from Mumbai and both have a trademark shot in straight drive. However, he cleared all the rumours in a recent interview.
Prithvi was recently questioned about his love for “Jersey number 100” and he confirmed that its not any superstition but something else.
He said that “I like this number, ‘hundred’ makes me feel like my surname Shaw. That’s why I wear 100 number jersey.
Hundred is called “Sau” in Hindi and the surname “Shaw” in no different word to pronounce.
