The Indian ace started off in a convincing fashion and edge past his American opponent in the first set tie breaker 7-4. Bhambri failed to capitalize on the gruelling first set win and eventually lost 7-6(4), 4-6, 4-6 at the hands of 18th seed Querrey in the third round.
Earlier, the 25 year-old player upset ninth seed Lucas Pouille of France 6-4, 6-4 in the second round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament and created alot of buzz.
