(Miami,USA): World no. 107 Yuki Bhambri enters second round of Miami Open 2018 as he brushed world no. 75 Mirza Basic of Bosnia, to move in the round of 64 here.The Indian took 1 hour and 32 minutes to get the better of his higher ranked opponent in straight sets 7-5, 6-3.

In the first game it was a gruelling battle between the two, as the Bosnian broke the service of Bhambri in 8th game. However, the Indian proved too good on the day as he managed to break twice(7th game and 11th game) in the first set that edged him past his opponent.
The second set started on a good note for Bhambri as he managed to break the service of Basic and then hold serve to take 2-0 lead at the start. Basic made a strong comeback to break Bhambri and then hold his serve to make it 2-2. Bhambri didn’t look back from then and broke the service of his opponent twice to register a comprehensive victory over world no. 75 from Bosnia.
He will now face eighth seed Jack Sock of United States, who had received a bye in the first round. This will prove to be a tough battle for Bhambri who will battle it out against the world no. 11. The match is scheduled to be held from 8.30 PM(IST) on Saturday.
