Controversial Afridi now targets Indian Premier League

Former Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi has been in the headlines a day before for his raw comment on Kashmir, before the people can get over it, he has again made a controversial statement. On 4 April, he has said that Indians has been continuously blooding the innocents on the border and even urged the United Nations (UN) to intervene on the “Indian Occupied Kashmir” issue to stop “bloodshed of innocents” after the Indian security forces killed 13 terrorists in three gunfights.

Several Indian cricketers like Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar and Suresh Raina have slammed Afridi for his comments on Kashmir.

Speaking on the backfire his tweet has received, Afridi was quoted by Sadiq as saying, “I’m not worried about the response to my tweet from some. I believe I spoke the truth and I have the right to speak the truth.”

However the former Pakistani all-rounder has now target Indian Premier League and said,”Even if they(India) call me, I won’t go to the IPL. My PSL is the biggest and there will be a time that it leaves the IPL behind. I am enjoying the PSL, I don’t have any need for the IPL. I’m not interested in it and never was”.

The claims were reported by Saj Sadiq, the editor of pakistanpassion.net. In a tweet to his 89 thousand Twitter followers.

Not to forget, BCCI has banned Pakistani cricketers to play in the cash-rich league, since the cross border tension has rised between the two neighbours in recent times.

Afridi was a part of Deccan Chargers in inaugral season of Indian Premier League.
