After a mirracilous 9th day of the competition courtesy of some spirited performance by 15-year-old Anish Bhanwala, Tejaswini Sawant and Bajrang Punia the focus now shifts to the penultimate day of Gold Coast CWG. 5:34 pm: Satwiksairaj/Ashwini Ponappa looses their bronze medal match.

5:00 pm: Satish Kumar looses his finals bout against Frazer Clarke of England, he settles for a silver medal.


4:50 pm: HS Prannoy looses his bronze medal match to Rajiv Ouseph of England

4:40 pm: Indian pair of Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Achanta Sharath Kamal looses in the gold medal match, they settle for a silver medal.


4:27 pm: Some defensive blunders and lack of finishing touch from the forwards yet again cost the match to Indian men’s hockey team. They go down to England 2-1 in the bronze medal match. Tough luck!

4:10 pm: Vikas Krishan wins gold in men’s 75kg category boxing. He beats Diedonne of Cameroon by unanimous decision. What a dominant display by the India.

4:05 pm: Sanil Shetty and Harmeet Desai win bronze medal in men’s doubles table tennis event.

3:12 pm: Saurav Ghoshal and Dipika Pallikal go down fighting to the Australian pair in straight games, they settle for silver.

3:05 pm: Manika Batra dominates the proceeding in final and wins in straight sets to give 24th gold medal to India! What a performance by the 22-year-old.


2:36 pm: India’s three medal matches are underway. Manika Batra and Dipika Pallikal/Saurav Ghoshal competing in gold medal match, India men’s hockey team competing in bronze medal match.

2:25 pm: Sikki Reddy and Ashwini Ponappa claims bronze in women’s doubles. They defeat the higher ranked Australian pair of 21-19,21-19.

1:50 pm: Somveer wins bronze in the 73kg freestyle wrestling. Comfortable 7-3 win in the end over Canada’s Alexander Moore.

1:20 pm:  Vinesh Phogat wins gold in women’s 50kg freestyle wrestling category to beat multiple-time World Champion Jessica Macdonald of Canada.

12:50 pm: SAKSHI MALIK WINS BRONZE! She survives in a close bout against Tayla Ford of New Zealand 6-5.


12:40 pm: Achanta Sharath Kamal looses in men’s singles semi final, he will now battle for the bronze medal.


12:15 pm: Indian 4×400 relay team of Sonia Baishya, Poovamma Raju, Gayakwad Saritaben Laxmanbhai and Hima Das, clocked a total of 3:33.61 to finish seventh.


11:59 am: India’s Arpinder Singh finishes 4th in men’s triple jump final. He misses on a medal.


11:55 am: Jinson Johnson sets the new national record and records a season best with time of 3:37.86 in the 1500m final, he finishes 5th and misses on a medal.


11:50 am: Satwiksairaj and Ashwini Ponappa loses to England’s Lauren Smith/Marcus Ellis by 22-20,18-21,16-21 in the mixed doubles semi final. They will now contest in the bronze medal match.

11:18 am: What a day it is turning out to be for India as Neeraj Chopra claims 5th gold on the day. He delivers a season best performance and throw 86.47 in javelins final.

10:30 am: HS Prannoy looses to Lei Ching Wei in semi finals. He will play for the bronze medal against Rajiv Ouseph of England.

PV Sindhu defeats Li Michelle of Canada, Sindhu faces Saina Nehwal in the women’s singles final.

Saina Nehwal defeats Kirsty Gilmour of Scotland, she faces PV Sindhu in the women’s singles final.


9:23 am: Dipika Pallikal and Joshna Chinappa enters the final of women’s doubles final in squash.

Kidambi Srikanth thumps Rajiv Ouseph of England 21-10, 21-17 to enter the final of men’s singles final of badminton. Up next is HS Prannoy against Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia.

09:00 am: Amit Phangal looses to Galal Yafai of England in the finals, he settles for a silver medal.


08:40 am: Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy go down in three games in their semi-final against Malaysia’s Mei Kuan Chow and Vivian Ho.
