Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore feels Kabaddi has got all the ingredients to become an Olympic sport. Rathore was at Dubai for the unveiling of the first edition of Kabaddi Masters Dubai.
“Hopefully kabaddi will very soon become a global sport and we will see it emerge as a strong contender for an Olympic sport,” Rathore said.

India thumped Pakistan in the tournament opener 36-20 to begin their campaign on a high. Indian skipper Ajay Thakur bagged 8 raid points and 2 tackle points to be named the “Man of the match”. Kenya is the third team in Group A, who will be making their International debut.
“Kabaddi has got all the qualities to become an Olympic sport. It has got speed, agility, power and teamwork. Hopefully when kabaddi comes to Olympics we will clinch the first gold medal,” India’s sports minister said.
