The Asian Games 2018 will begin with the opening ceremony on 18th August with the main sporting events starting from 19th August till the 2nd September. India had participated in the Pan Asian event since its first edition in 1951 and will be the 18th appearance for the peninsular nation.

543 athletes from India are participating in 34 sports out of the total 40. India will not be participating in baseball, football, jet ski, modern pentathlon, rugby sevens and triathlon.
