After England put up a batting exhibiting to close down on 395/7 in the first innings, the focus now shifts to the Indian innings who have to surpass 289 run mark to nullify any chances of an innings defeat. The cornerstone of the innings was again on the opening pair of Murali Vijay and KL Rahul but they failed to make a mark and got out cheaply. India are 17/2 after rain hit the proceedings and the “Men in Blue” are again on a brink to repeat the history of poor run at away tours. There has been huge debate over India’s poor run run in England but a tweet from former Sri Lankan cricketer Russell Arnold has been the centre of attention.
Arnold tweeted “The last time Sri Lanka played a test at Lords … it was a draw — just saying”. His words were certainly not entertained by the passionate Indian fans and they blasted him with their tweets.
