India captain Virat Kohli has become an easy target for the fans after India suffered a humiliating loss against England by an innings and 159 runs at Lords. Critics have started to question his captaincy and selection policy, amid all this the captain himself has posted an emotional message on his official Facebook account.

“Sometimes we win and other times we learn. You never give up on us and we promise to never give up on you either. Onwards and upwards,” the message read.

Kohli has been India’s saviour in the ongoing test series as he piled up 200 runs in the first test at Home of Robin Hood- Edgbaston and kept the loosing deficit to only 31 runs. However, in the second test he looked a bit off-colour which resulted in demerit of his ranking points and out of national reckoning Steve Smith again regained the top spot in test rankings.

Virat suffered a stiff back in the second innings of Lords test that may have been a worrisome news but he cleared that he will get fit in mere five days.

Virat’s speech after the second test

“Not very proud of the way we played to be honest. First time in last five Test matches we’ve been outplayed. Credit to England. They were clinical. When a team plays like that they deserve to be on the winning side. Can’t really think about those things (conditions not in favour). You have to counter the conditions as and when they come to you. Can’t crib about these things,” he said

“Sometimes the rub of the green will go your way too. Won’t sit around and say that we didn’t have the best of conditions. Their bowlers were relentless with the ball. Looking at things now, the weather was so unpredictable, I think we got the combination a bit off before the game. Chance to correct that next game. Five days to go, should be okay. Lower back issue coming up again and again, purely because of the workload. Confident I’ll be fine in five days time,” he added.
