An underlying Indian team got a big boost as out of action Jasprit Bumrah was finally declared fit for the third test at Trent Bridge. Bumrah was out of action since the Ireland T20 series where he broke his left thumb that kept him out of the England limited over series.

The Gujarat pacer bare a surgery in Leeds on July 4 and underwent rehabilitation in India. He was expected to get back in the second test but team management didn’t wanted to take any risks in regard to his plaster which had not came off.

England lead the five-match series 2-0 after convincing wins.

It will be interesting to see if the team management will decide to get him back in the playing 11 without any match practise.

Hardik-Ashwin declared fit

Ravichandran Ashwin and Hardik Pandya have also been declared fit for the third test. Both the cricketers faced some nasty blows in the second test at Lords with fiery spells from James Anderson well supported by the cool weather and overcast conditions.

Will Indian captain feature in the third test?

It was a big blow to India when skipper Virat Kohli didn’t come to field in the first session on 4th day of Lords test due to a stiff back. At the post match ceremony Kohli said that it is not a worry-some sign and he will get fit in five day.

Indian team attended a gym session today with all the players including captain Virat Kohli undergoing physical restoration to get fully fit for the third test where Indian team have to take the attack to the opposition for any chance to eke out a win and make it 2-1 in the series.

The next test will start from 18 August at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. England lead the Pataudi trophy 2-0
