The build to the upcoming cricket world cup has allready started with all the teams eyeing the best possible playing XI to lift the coveted trophy. On the other hand, retired cricketers and experts have allready started donning the prediction hat to pick their favourite contender to lift the world cup.
Now joining the trend is former Proteas skipper AB De Villiers who said that South Africa will have a good chance of lifting the world cup after thumping England, India and Australia.
South Africa are the favourites to lift the world cup- AB De Villiers
“I think the Proteas are looking good for the World Cup. They have had a great series win against Australia, India and England are the other two teams that I feel have a good shot at the title. The bowlers look exceptional but we will be needing in-form batsmen to travel to England,” de Villiers was quoted as saying in News 18.
De Villiers shocked the cricketing world after he announced his retirement from International cricket just after playing the 11th season of IPL. However, he said that he has no regrets in taking the decision and he’s a happy man.
“I am extremely happy, I feel a lot of happiness in my heart and that’s important. My relationships with my wife, my kids, my parents, my brothers are the most important things in my life & that’s exceptionally well in the last few years. So, I am a very happy man,” he added.
De Villiers is featuring in the inaugural edition of Mzansi Super League where he is leading- Tshwane Spartans.
