India are currently in the drivers seat in the ongoing first test against West Indies, finishing the day at 364 runs with the loss of 4 wickets. Debutant Prithvi Shaw turned on the momentum he got at the start of the innings and went onto score 134 runs and also added 206 runs for 2nd wicket with Cheteshwar Pujara(86) to take India to a dominant position.
However, before the start of the test series, selectors ousted senior players like Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan to give chance to budding talents like Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw.
Shikhar was the man of the series in Asia Cup after being the highest run scorer in the tournament but he failed to fire in the England test series that sidelined him from the Windies test series.
Off-field battle between the spouses
The non-selection of Shikhar Dhawan was certainly a tough job for selectors but this has given rise to a feud between Virat Kohli’s wife- Anushka Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan’s wife- Ayesha Dhawan. A report by Dainik Jagran states that when Anushka is with the team she attends some batsmen team meetings.
The reports added that Ayesha had said that she had not spoken anything on her family to Anushka, and since then, the duo have been separated. A BCCI official had stated that Anushka and Ayesha were good friends.
This has come down heavily at Anushka Sharma and fans on social media accuse her of creating a rift in the Indian team.
