Kidambi Srikanth: Meet new Deputy Collector of Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Government appoints Kidambi Srikanth as a Deputy Collector

Andhra Pradesh Government appoints Kidambi Srikanth as a Deputy Collector on Thursday. Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party chief, N Chandrababu Naidu handed over the appointment letter to him in Amravati in the presence of India’s chief national coach Pullela Gopichand. It was a double delight for Srikanth as he was feliciated with prestigious Padma Shri award by President Ramnath Kovind, earlier this month. He became the second youngest sportsperson in India after Rio Olympic silver-medallist PV Sindhu to have received the coveted honour.

The Chief Minister also congratulated Srikanth for recently receiving Padma Shri award, the fourth highest civilian award in the Republic of India.

After bagging the title at the Indonesian Championship in June last year, Srikanth was felicitated by Naidu in Vijayawada and was also promised a government job. Later in November 2017, the State Cabinet passed a resolution and decided to appoint Srikanth as Deputy Collector in Group-1 service.

Earlier, the Andhra government has also appointed Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu as the deputy collector in June, 2017.
