After the McMahon family took charge of RAW and SmackDown the future of Kurt Angle was uncertain as the general manager of the RAW. The storylines kept him in the in-ring competition but a focussed Drew McIntyre unleashed the attack on Angle in one-on-one match on Raw which made the fans believe that his growing age is not helping the cause as well.
It was speculated that the 1996 Olympic champion will retire from the company and it was made official when Angle announced that he will retire from WWE after Wrestlemania on yesterday’s episode of Raw. Angle made the announcement in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania which he considers as his hometown.
“At WrestleMania, I will compete in my farewell match. I’d like to thank the WWE, I’d like to thank every superstar that I’ve shared the locker room with, and most importantly, I want to thank each and every one of you,” Angle said.
Kurt further went on to say that he wants to compete for the final time in his hometown and Apollo Crews gave him the competition. Angle looked in control of the match and finally won via pinfall courtesy of a vintage Angle slam.

It is speculated that Angle might face John Cena at the greatest stage of them all and if the case is true then “the greatest wrestler of the company” will have the honour of sending off the International hero.
