Asia Cup 2018 Schedule announced- India set to play 2 ODIs on consecutive days

The much anticipated Asia Cup 2018 Schedule was announced today as Bangladesh are set to take on Sri Lanka in the tournament opener on 15th September. Defending champions India will be playing on two consecutives day.

The tournament will be held at UAE and will see India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan compete for the coveted title. There is still one spot for grabs which will be decided from the group of UAE, Singapore, Oman, Nepal, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

The tournament was originally scheduled to take place in India but it was moved to UAE following the cross border tension between India and Pakistan.

In the 2016 edition, the tournament was held in T20 format but this time it will be played in the ODI format.

Group A consists of India, Pakistan and the qualifier team.

Group B consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan

Qualification

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super 4. The four teams will square off against each other and the top two teams will progress to the finals.

21 September – Group A Winner vs Group B Runner-up (Dubai)
21 September – Group B Winner vs Group A Runner-up (Abu Dhabi)
23 September – Group A Winner vs Group A Runner-up (Dubai)
23 September – Group B Winner vs Group B Runner-up (Abu Dhabi)
25 September – Group A Winner vs Group B Winner (Dubai)
26 September – Group A Runner-up vs Group B Runner-up (Abu Dhabi)

Final
28 September – Asia Cup 2018 Final (Dubai)
