An impressive Afghanistan thumped Bangladesh in a side sided encounter by 136 runs to top group A. This was Afghanistan’s 3rd win over Bangladesh in six matches. The Men in Blue have also defeated Sri Lanka in their previous encounter and will be a tough nut to crack for Pakistan. The two teams meet in Super 4 stage clash of Asia Cup on Friday at same venue(Abu Dhabi).
Man of the match and birthday boy Rashid Khan turned out his magic to take Afghanistan to a famous win. He scored an unbeaten 57 off just 32 balls to take Afghanistan to a below par total of 255/7, which didn’t look like a possibility when the Afghan team was struggling at 150/6 at one stage.
He also spun the web around and took 2 wickets, giving away just 13 runs in his spell of 9 overs. Bangladesh never looked comfortable in the chase and got bundled out on 119 runs,
Twitterverse was thrilled with Afghanistan’s dominant performance and also congratulated birthday boy Rashid Khan, who had a huge impact on the match.

This is what cricket brings to a country that has not had anything to cheer up for decades now. #AsiaCup18 #BANvAFG #AFGvBAN @ICCMediaComms pic.twitter.com/hGJezJQ0Gv

it was Inzamam as @ACBofficials coach in 2015 who picked @rashidkhan_19. Selectors discarded & given Inzi a Rashid-less squad for Zim tour. Inzi (who had also played Rashid in nets) refused 2 agree & persisted them to have him. thats how his journey started.#AsiaCup2018 #BANvAFG

Afghanistan have decimated the Bangladesh tigers by 136 runs! They play Pakistan tomorrow, and i have a feeling that this game might be even stevens! Afghanistan have batted very sensibly this tournament and their spin attack could dismantle the very best! #AsiaCup2018 #BANvAFG
