4. Manu Bhaker
The young 16-year-old shooting sensation from Haryana has gathered the headlines in the recent times. She came to the limelight when she won 2 gold medal at ISSF world cup in January to prove her prowess in a game which requires highest level of concentration. She delivered at the Gold Coast Commonwealth games and won a gold in women’s 10m air pistol event with a comprehensive points margin over the silver medallist Heena Sidhu of India. Considering her recent form, Bhaker will again be the favourite to shoot at gold in her debut appearance at the Asian event.
3. Sushil Kumar
The two time Olympic medallist returned to the mat after a span of 3 years at the senior nationals in Indore last December. The 74 kg freestyle wrestler bagged a gold after three walkovers and continued his dominance in the Commonwealth Games by again winning the top prize. However, Sushil faced a setback and lost first bout in four years to the hands of Polish wrestler Andrzej Piotr Sokalski at Tbilisi Grand Prix in Georgia in July. Despite the rare failure, Kumar will still be the favourite to bag his maiden gold at Asian Games.
