Australia bring back a senior pacer after two years for T20 decider against India

It was a heartbreak for India after the Melbourne T20 was washed off courtesy of the rain showers amid the cold Melbourne weather. Australian batsman failed to fire and as a result India got an easy target to chase with duckworth lewis again coming into play.

At one moment the rain stopped and Indian openers were set to start the innings but then the clouds had some other plans as they washed off the match to hand a heartbreak to India and the Indian fans.

Australia one win away from clinching the T20 series

There were lot of talks about a low strength Australia without the services of Steve Smith and David Warner but the men in yellow and gold managed to win the 1st T20 and rain helped their cause in the 2nd T20. The Justin Langer coached team will be looking for one final push to win the last match and take the winning momentum to rest of the series which includes four tests and three ODIs.

Meanwhile, Australian selectors have brought back Mitchell Starc in place of injured Billy Stanlake for the last T20.

Starc has been Australia’s premier pacer in test and ODI format and the selectors give chance to the youngsters to showcase their skills in the T20 format. However, with one win doing the trick for Australia, the selectors have brought back him to the T20 squad after 2016 which clearly depicts the need of a series win for the Aussies.

“[Starc has] got so much experience in the limited-overs games … and we’ve seen how dominant he can be when he gets it right with the ball,” Australia’s T20 captain Aaron Finch said on Saturday.

“We’ll have a look at the wicket this afternoon and discuss the side but coming straight off a Shield game with an eye on the first Test, his preparations will be really good,” he added.

The 3rd T20 is slated to take place at the Sydney cricket ground in Sydney on Sunday.
