India showed their dominance and won the Indore test on the third day itself to eke ahead 1-0 in the two match test series against Bangladesh. In this test held at Holkar Stadium, Bangladesh had to suffer an innings and 130 runs courtesy of brilliant Indian pace and spin attack. After this crushing defeat at the hands of India, Bangladeshi coach Russell Domingo has insisted on improving the overall structure of the team.
After the match Domingo said that the team needs a third seamer who can also bat at number 7 and 8 and provide a balance to the team. The visiting team stationed seven batsmen and four bowlers for the first test.
‘There is no doubt that the team structure needs to be changed. Otherwise the results are going to be like this. I need to sit down with the selectors and consider the strategy ahead. I need to identify the players who can take the team forward,” Domingo said at the press conference.
“There are many great players in our team and they need to be respected, but at the same time we also need to take decisions in the interest of the team.” He mentioned that the team needs an all rounder like Mohammad Saifuddin who can beĀ an asset for the team but an injury has ruled him out.
Bangladesh takes the field in the second test of the series at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. This will be the first time when India and Bangladesh play a day night test with a pink ball.
