Murali Vijay who was out of the test team after poor run in England test series has got back into the test squad for Australia test series after some impressive performance in the English county cricket. Selectors are clear on their view over Shikhar Dhawan who was ousted from the squad following his poor technique that gets exposed on the foreign tours.
MSK Prasad led selection committee called a late evening meeting where they also announced the T20 squad for West Indies and Australia series.
India’s vice captain in the limited overs format- Rohit Sharma was also included in the test squad as an additional batsman and he will be eyeing some impressive performances to cement his place in whites.
“With regards to Rohit, he is a good back-foot player and his game is much suited in Australia,” said chief selector MSK Prasad.
Another player making the comeback is wicket-keeper batsman from Gujarat- Parthiv Patel.
“Parthiv was not picked for Afghanistan Test and subsequent England series. He played the Duleep Trophy and whatever matches that happened, he batted well. It’s an intensive series (in Australia) and we have called him back,” said Prasad.
