Becky Lynch relinquished her Raw women’s title to Asuka after she announced her pregnancy. Now the fans are heartbroken with the departure of The Man and are allready waiting for an update on her return to the wrestling ring after becoming mother.
The former women’s champion was interviewed by Charlotte Gibson of espnW to promote the company’s partnership with Special Olympics. Becky was asked the question of a possible return to the ring to which she replied that she has examples ahead of the mothers who have returned to be the top notch superstar in wrestling business.
“Bringing it closer to home, I’ll talk about the mothers in my own line of work: WWE Superstars Asuka, Mickie James and Lacey Evans. They’ve all proven that you can do both,” Lynch said.
The Irish woman noted that she plans to return to the wrestling ring once she’s able to do so. Lynch further talked about the equality with men and how women’s have to sacrifice many things to make a return after becoming a parent unlike the male superstars.
“That’s something that I’ve always preached and wanted women to have that equality. And of course, to be on the level with the male performers and be on the same level in terms of pay, in terms of treatment. But also, this kind of goes hand in hand where a guy can go and have a kid and doesn’t have to miss a beat in his career. Unfortunately, we do. But that’s also a fortunate thing because we get to experience things that they never will, but also it just doesn’t mean that it’s got to be the end for a career in any line. And I think a lot of people have proved that, and I hope to join them,” she said.
She feels that her wrestling career won’t come to an end after becoming a mother and she plans to emaluate the wrestlers and athletes who have returned after their pregnancies.
