Rishabh Pant put up a blistering show to notch up his career’s 4th test hundred on the 3rd day of Cape Town test match against South Africa. India lost two early wickets in the course of starting 10 minutes on the 3rd day morning session as out of form Cheteshwar Pujara(9) and Ajinkya Rahane(1) failed to impress and India were in a spot of bother at 58/4 and a lead of just 71 runs. Virat Kohli was watchful at one corner as Rishabh Pant walked to the crease and turned the favours in India’s favour thereafter.
He put up a 94 run stand with skipper Kohli to take out India from a bothering situation. After the departure of Kohli(29), he batted with India’s long tail and piled up his fourth test hundred to take India to a total of 198 runs and put up a total of 212 runs for the hosts.
Rishabh Pant has now made a habit of performing in the deciding test matches in the past as he scored a blistering 89* in the Gabba test to win it for India. Twitter was all praise for the wicket-keeping batsman as his ton kept India in the hunt to win it’s first ever test series in South Africa.
Incredible ? from #RishabhPant . Just two other batsmen reached double fingers and has single -handedly kept India in the game. Not just an ex-factor but one of India’s biggest match-winner in Test cricket. pic.twitter.com/8FqX1FrIIK

#pant played to the situation and that’s what makes this knock special! These runs will add to the #SouthAfrican batter’s worry, as they have to face one of the best bowling attack in test cricket. #SAvIND

Rishabh Pant is a special player…played the best Test knock by an Indian in 2021 (Gabba). And here, he’s played another gem. It wasn’t even a contest without Pant’s contribution. #SAvInd

Around 18 months ago, Rishabh Pant made a promise to himself to become the best wicket-keeper batter in the world. Guess he’s not too far from having achieved his goal #SAvIND

History by Rishabh Pant – he becomes the first Asian wicketkeeper to score Test century in South Africa. A Test hundred in Australia, England and now South Africa and he’s just 24. A very very special player. pic.twitter.com/Ae68pLYG7V
