Bharat Arun, the bowling coach of the Indian cricket team, has given a big statement about team’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. He has said that Bumrah do not need a surgery at this moment. However, he added that Bumrah will not be able to play any series in India this year and he is expected to return to tour next year against New Zealand.
India have to play a series with Bangladesh, West Indies and Sri Lanka in the next three months in home conditions. After the West Indies tour, Bumrah was forced out of the team due to a stress fracture and also had to go to England for treatment in October. The BCCI did not say much about it and said that Gujarat born paver’s injury was a minor one.
Team India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun said that Bumrah’s injury is not very concerning and it happens with fast bowlers. Arun has expressed that Bumrah will join the team on the tour of New Zealand.
“Fast bowling is an unnatural activity. Despite our best efforts there can be no guarantees. We expect Bumrah to be back sooner than later, hopefully in time for the New Zealand Test series that is our next big challenge. As of now, he doesn’t need surgery,” Arun was quoted as saying by News18.
