Chennai Smashers v Ahmedabad Smash Masters: Thrilling rally of the day.

Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk of Chennai Smashers pulled off a stunning 15-10, 12-15, 15-14 win over HS Prannoy of Ahmedabad Smash Masters to level the tie at 1-1 for Chennai.

The Thai southpaw snapped Prannoy’s 10-match winning streak in PBL to bring the Chennai team back in contention by winning against the trump.

Earlier HS Prannoy played the trump match against Tonongsak Saensomboonsuk of Chennai Smashers. Last season he pulled off 6 straight wins playing for Mumbai Rockets and this season he continued the streak of 4 straight wins playing for Ahmedabad based franchise. Prannoy’s roaring victory against Kidambi Srikanth in last tie, was counted as a strong statement. Running with confidence, Prannoy played a trump against Tanongsak of Chennai Smashers. But the Thai southpaw had some other ideas and defeated the Indian giant in a thrilling three games encounter.

Prannoy though started off in a convincing fashion to take the first game 15-12.

Tanongsak looked shaky in the second game, with complete momentum towards Prannoy, taking the game 12-15.

In the third game, things went neck to neck and eventually the scores was tied on 14-14. Prannoy showed great valour, playing close to the net and defending some of the hardest smashes of the day. But it was his Thai opponent who had the upper hand in the rally and took the game 15-14.
