The Punjabi magic has allready soared up the spirits of Universe Boss “Chris Gayle”. The Carribean star was purchased by Kings XI Punjab in the recently concluded IPL Auction 2018 at his base price of 2 crore rupees. Gayle failed to entertain any bid at the first attempt in the round of Marquee players. Chris Gayle celebrate in punjabi style

He was again called in auction for a purchase, but again failed to get a bid. At the last instance, every franchise needed to submit three unsold names to the auctioneer of their choice to be re-called again. Luckily for Gayle, Preity Zinta the owner of Kings XI Punjab placed an opening bid which eventually became the closing bid and he was sold in the third round.

Ever since the Punjab based franchise acquired him, the Universe Boss has kept himself active on the social media. He recently uploaded a video on Instagram with some banter with his fellow Jamaican cricketer, Andre Russell. The devastating opener is allready in the IPL zone, competing with a Knight being a Punjabi himself. Gayle said “This Knight Rider player can’t be a Punjabi man.”

Russell took the challenge and said that he will do Punjabi ‘bhangra’ dance after hitting a 6 against Gayle. But the boss had some other ideas as the move went the opposite way. Now Chris Gayle celebrate in Punjabi style as he caught and bowled Russell. He tapped his thighs and showed off his moustache, what comes as a clone to Shikhar Dhawan’s style of celebration.

Russell was earlier retained by Kolkata Knight Riders, despite him being non-active in cricket post his ban due to doping violation. This came as a brave move from the Kolkata based franchise.

Gayle had a fabulous 2017 with bat in the shorter version of the game. He had two T20 hundreds to his name. But his lack of form in IPL from last two season, put the curtains on his future with RCB.

The IPL season 11 action unfolds from 4th of April. Chris Gayle will be representing his third IPL team, when he plays for Kings XI Punjab. He has been a part of Royal Challenge Bangalore from 2011. Gayle also played for KKR from 2008-2010.
