India looked totally off-colour when they faced minnows Hong Kong in their opening clash of Asia Cup yesterday, where they had to fight it out for the win. Pakistan were the favourites coming in today’s game, but it was the Indian team which got back to their basics, making it a cakewalk victory by 8 wickets. Out of form Bhuvneshwar Kumar got back to his best of form and picked 3 wickets and gave away just 15 runs to be crowned man of the match. Indian opening combination of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma added 86 runs, chasing a target of 163 runs. They set it up nicely, before Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik stitched a 60 run partnership to take India home comfortably.

A resounding win for India, especially considering playing back to back matches in this heat. The bowlers were brilliant and Rohit led the team brilliantly. Congratulations! #IndvPak

The bowlers stood up when it mattered the most. @jaspritbumrah93 & @bhuviofficial bolwed an excellent opening spell and the the three spinners maintained the pressure right through the innings. @jadhavkedar was just superb with his variety of deliveries.#INDvPAK #AsiaCup2018 pic.twitter.com/3XYVfB76o2
