After a mixed first day where lawn balls and women’s cricket brought disappointment for India, table tennis team, boxer Shiva Thapa, squash and badminton went the winning ways for the Indian contingent. Now the focus shifts on the second day where India can possibly add their first medal in the games and that can come from weightlifting arena.

After disappointment from the men’s gymnasts, the focus now shifts towards women’s event where three Indians will be in action. Indian badminton team will take on Sri Lanka and Australia in their group stage clash before taking the ground for the knockouts. Three Indian boxers will also be in action followed by Squash action in round of 32.

Indian men’s and women’s table tennis squad will also take the field for their last group stage clash before the knockouts. Indian women’s hockey team will take on Wales after a comfortable win over Ghana.

Artistic Gymnastics:

Women’s team final and individual qualification: Ruthuja Nataraj, Protistha Samanta and Praniti Naik (9 pm)

Athletics:

Men’s marathon final: Nitendra Singh Rawat (1.30 pm)

Badminton:

  1. Mixed team Group A: India vs Sri Lanka (1.30 pm)
  2. India vs Australia (11.30 pm)

Boxing:

  1. 54-57kg (featherweight) round of 32 Hussam Uddin Mohammed (5 pm)
  2. 66-70kg (light middleweight) round of 16 Lovlina Borgohain (12am on Sunday morning)
  3. 86-92kg (heavyweight) round of 16 Sanjeet (1 am on Sunday morning)

Squash:

  1. Men’s singles round of 32: Ramit Tandon (5 pm)
  2. Sourav Ghosal (6.15 pm)
  3. Women’s singles round of 32- Sunaya Sara Kuruvilla (5.45 pm), Joshana Chinnapa (5.45 pm)

Swimming:

Men’s 200m freestyle – Heat 3: Kushagra Rawat (3.06 pm)

Table Tennis:

  1. Women’s Group 2: India vs Guyana (2 pm)

Cycling:

  2. Women’s 3000m individual pursuit qualifying: Meenakshi (2.30 pm – 6.15 pm)
