In an big injury blow to Afghanistan, their pacer Dawlat Zadran gets ruled out of the debut test against India owing to a knee injury.
“Fast bowler @dawlat_zadarn suffered a knee injury during the training camp in India. He has been advised one month’s rest by doctors. Therefore, he will not be available for the T20I series against Bangladesh as well as Afghanistan’s one-off Test against India,” Afghan Cricket Board tweeted.
Zadran will also miss the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh starting June 3 in Dehradun’s newly build stadium. The Afghan team is currently training in Dehradun where the pacer suffered the injury.
The team will head to Bengaluru to play its inaugural Test from June 14.
A dejected Zadran wrote an emotional post on his official facebook and said sorry to his fans.
“I’m really passing through very tough situations these days as I am not part of Afghanistan Cricket Team due to my injury on the historical moment of our very first cricket test match, which is against India. This was the moment I waited for very long and now I am going to miss it. Really very Sorry!,” he wrote.
