*First of all congrats for securing a place in shooting contingent for CWG, how are you feeling?

Seema didn’t have much words for the question and replied with “Feeling Good”, as we expect. Representing nation at International level is unexplainable feeling, which can’t be expressed, we understand how much of a hard work an athlete undergoes, to secure a spot in the lot of talented shooters.

Asked about her current form going into the games and a shot at maiden CWG medal, the six times national champion replied, “I’m working hard for achievement, will fight till the end to bring laurels to the country,”.

Seema’s best performance came in ISSF-World Cup held at England (Dorset), 2010, where she won Silver in Trap Event.

NRAI announced a strong 27 member Indian shooting team, which will eye greatness in Gold Coast. On being asked about India’s chances and expected medals from Indian shooters, she replied in a positive way”Aane to acche medals chahiye(we should get good amount of medals), everybody is working hard for the medals, let’s see it’s a sport, anything can happen,”.

She also expressed her contentment by the support from association and government.

Seema was best finisher for India in the women’s trap event in the recently concluded  ISSF World Cup, shooting 111 in qualifying to end in 15th spot. However, she missed on a medal. We asked her if missing a medal in world cup could bring down her morale going into the Commonwealth Games.

She replied,” No it won’t affect my morale, because mera performance accha tha Mexico me(My performance was acceptable in Mexico), medal na ane se koi fark nahi padta(it doesn’t matter if i didn’t get a medal), even now i know where i have to work.

She was also confident on continuing till the Tokyo Olympics and is in no mood to part ways from the sport she loves, anytime soon.
